Hi! I’m Kathy, and it’s nice to meet you. I’m a mom, eighth grade teacher, and blogger, so I know what it’s like to be busy and have little time to prepare a good meal for family. I love food, cooking, and spending time with family at the dinner table. At Southern Cook’d, I share simple and tasty recipes for the busy cook, meal planning and prep to ease the task of cooking, and a little part of me with every post. There’s something about the kitchen in every home I’ve ever been in; it’s where loving hands prepare meals to provide nourishment to the family. It’s the heart of a home and my favorite room in my own house.
I started blogging about books in 2012 and decided to combine my love of cooking and food with my enjoyment of blogging in 2016. In March of 2017, Southern Cook’d was finally ready to launch, and I couldn’t be more excited.
I am widowed from the best husband God could have chosen for me and mother to Jordan and Allison. Jordan inherited my love for cooking, which I inherited from my mother. He completed his culinary training and is an exceptional chef. Some of my favorite moments in life were spent sharing counter space with Jordan while we prepared and cooked together. I live in East Tennessee (go, Vols!) and have two fur babies, Mazy and Lotto, to keep me company. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ll visit often!
